[Viviens Model Management Australia, EuroModel Netherlands.] All photographs by Dave Blake.
I am a Dutch model with a curious soul and a endless craving for traveling, sun, palm trees and oceans. After I completed my studies in Marketing and Communication I started traveling. Last year I visited Asia, The Caribbean, the US and at the moment I am based in Brisbane, Australia and working for Viviens Model Management.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I have been modelling and acting for over 8 years. I was scouted when I was 13 years old and signed up with a agency when I was 15 years old.
When did you start modelling?
Most of the time I’ve worked as a freelance model because my height (172cm) was a problem for most of the agencies. It doesn't seem to be as much of a problem today, which is great.
For the last year I have been represented by EuroModel in The Netherlands, I am currently working for Viviens Model Management in Brisbane, Australia.
Which agencies have represented you worldwide?
Haha good question, last week I flew to Thailand to shoot a tutorial for Garnier. That was amazing!
I was the lead female talent in a videoclip for Lost Frequencies, a while a go. That was a great job. The artist and team were lovely to work with and the video got more than 1.4 Million views.
Let me think about the third one.. Probably the commercial I did for a dutch travel agency (Beachmasters). We stayed in an amazing villa in Portugal for a week to shoot the commercial. We were with 7 models and an amazing crew. We basically had a holiday, and somebody was following us with a camera. It was definitely on of the best weeks of my life.
What are your top 3 career hi-lights so far?
A direct booking to Thailand for Garnier.
Biggest job you've ever had?
I love love love beach shoots :)
Favourite kinds of shoots?
It can be a tough world. You have to be sure you can handle it and don’t get insecure by seeing so many beautiful girls.
Everybody is beautiful in their one kind of way it is important that you realise that.
If you are serious about becoming a model, try to get in contact with people that are already doing it.
It can be good to have people around you that know how this world works.
Any advice for aspiring models?
Who would you like to be photographed by, sky's the limit?
In all honestly I don’t know at the moment.
I always wanted to shoot with Marc Lagrange a photographer from Belgium but unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago.
Any post shoot rituals?
Haha no not really, probably relaxing and eating unhealthy ... [like eating photo chips in the shower?] Yes Dave, something like that.
Hmm… I really like Doutzen Kroes @doutzen she a dutch model. She is a bit older now and doesn’t do that much work anymore. But she is still a inspiring person.
Your favourite model right now?
Well, simple.. A lot of water and a lot of sleep :) My two beauty ‘secrets'
I know that you work and travel a lot. How do you manage to look so fresh faced?

By popular request, I’m now shooting some some sexy dudes, for none other than TagHeuer for AugustMan Malaysia. No more complaining ladies.
At 6am, in the space of 3 hours we experienced cloud, rain, sunshine, sun showers, and a freak wave which took out my assistant Casey, any my beloved Nikon D800 - oh well. All worth it, and some cracking images to come for TagHeuer in AugustMan Malaysia. Stay tuned for the full shoot.

Postcards From Paradise.
What's to say when you come across an abandoned tee-pee on an Island beach, at sunset, with three models and a couple of good looking pineapples. Steph Rayner, Bridget McMahon, Lori McKenzie via Vivien's Models; Photographs by Dave Blake, Hair-Makeup Jessica Cagney. Location: North Stradbroke Island, Queensland Australia.
A girl that started her life in Fiji and then Australia with a gypsy mum, Montana arrived at my studio for a simple model test with her girlish swagger, cowgirl boots and a smile. If you ever meet her you’ll know what I mean about the smile. She left me feeling privileged, with this very raw and beautiful set of images. This may sound kind of woo-woo, but I get the sense that she really is a very old soul, that crosses paths with those that ask for a bit of help from the Angels from time to time.
